Once again, some greats shots to keep your hearts warm!! Last time I showed you some 504 rallying on asphalt, but this time, thanks to Keith Ward, a 504 fan living on Waiheke Island, New Zealand, you're about to discover a rather... original 504!!
Indeed, this monster
was built on a 504 sedan basis, and has been quite transformed in order to participate
to a local Dirt track championship!! As Keith wrote me, "Dirt track
is basically clay, and an oval track which gets watered to make for lots of
skids".
Looking at his car, you'll see that the doors have been sheetmetal riveted to
the body shell, all windows are gone, there's only one seat left. You can also
notice the presence of a rollcage for safety and an anti-approch bar fixed on
top of the front shocks. Plus alloy rims, no front bumper, and masked front
lights... The final result is rather agressive, isn't it?? I just love it!
And of course, the engine has had modification, headwork, valve seats, camshaft,
extractors. And guess what? Keith and his 504 managed to come 2nd overall for
the season (98-99)!! Congratulations!
Just look at the 2nd photo with the horde chasing the leading 504, it's a real
happiness! Thanks a lot, Keith!!
