As you can easily state, this is a rallye 504, visibly used in Africa.
It has been spotted by Jean-Paul, a member of the Amicale 504 (the french
club).
You can already notice the specific bumper, which seems to be welded
on a hand-made carter protection. And also the impressive Air Box to
cool down the engine...
Air box that is really needed, since this 504 has been equiped witrh
a V6 engine (this has never been offered by Peugeot on any 504 sedan)!!
On this side view, you can spot the security cage (I still don't know
the correct name) and the sealed rear doors.
And also, don't you have a strange impression when ou looks towards the rear part of the car??
Well, you are right! Look at this view! The trunk has been totally TRONCATED
to gain some weight! A bit like Citroen did on his DS and SM for the african
rallyes in the 70s...
This really is a radical transformation, which can be considered as aesthetically...
special, but surely efficient in terms of weight!
A quick look on the inside... Few major modifications to notice there, except for the right counter on the dashboard, the alloy pedals (gain of weight, gain of weight!!), and the dashboard in front of the passenger that has been completely dismounted!
Well, this 504 would certainly be pretty much noticed in the streets, wouldn't it?
